Moon Yoga: Moving with the Cycles
Mara Lisa Müller | OCT 14, 2025
The other day, someone kindly asked me what kind of yoga I teach.
I smiled and explained that my background lies in the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage — the foundation that taught me discipline, presence, and breath.
But through the teachings of life itself — through my body, through sacred plants, and through a deepening connection with my own cyclical nature — something new began to unfold within me.
It came so naturally that I never questioned it.
I called it Moon Yoga.
Don’t get me wrong — I love the Ashtanga practice. I love its fiery energy, its strength, its rhythm.
And the longer I practice, the more I understand that even within this sequence, both polarities live — the solar and the lunar, the effort and the surrender.
Yet sometimes, I feel the need for a little more cooling energy, for movement that softens rather than ignites.
I am a child of the sun, as are my siblings, but the Moon carries her own teachings — gentleness, reflection, receptivity.
I believe both the sun and the moon deserve time and space in our lives.
Moon Yoga is a weekly class that offers a space to reconnect — with the cosmos, the Earth, and the elements that live within and around us.
Each class is aligned with the current phase of the Moon, the astrological sign it moves through, and the element connected to that sign.
This practice is guided intuitively — a weaving of movement, stillness, and awareness that reflects the dance between the inner world of our breath and emotions, and the outer world of celestial rhythms and earthly flow.
Moon Yoga isn’t something I studied or was taught.
It was born from my own experience, from listening deeply to the body and to the whispers of nature.
I am not an astrologer, nor a cyclical nature specialist — I am a woman listening to her inner tides.
This practice flows from intuition and presence.
It honors the truth that we are water beings, and just like the ocean responds to the Moon, so do we.
Not only women cycle — all beings do.
We all carry waters.
We all carry wisdom.
This is an invitation to remember your own rhythm.
To feel where your heart says yes.
To listen when your body asks for stillness.
To move with what is — to let the Moon guide you home to yourself.
When we follow our natural cycles, life becomes softer, more spacious, and aligned with what truly matters.
Gentle, grounding movement guided by the current Moon energy
Short meditation or reflection inspired by the lunar sign
Time to rest, release, and integrate
A safe, heart-centered space open to all — no experience needed
Classes take place weekly — online.
If you feel called to join, come move with me under the next Moon.
